From unexplained sightings of mythical and prehistoric creatures to UFOs; it's pretty safe to say that humans relish a good mystery. And this bizarre footage captured in Idaho will surely whet the appetite of conspiracy theorists around the globe. In the clip, which was captured by an amateur filmmaker, a huge bird-like creature flies across the sky over Boise, Ohio.
Residents of Boise, Idaho, are baffled at the sight of a strange bird flying over their neighborhoods, capturing the attention of many. The creature looks to be a pterosaur, or pterodactyl as many know it by, despite being extinct. A video of the pterodactyl was uploaded to YouTube and quickly went viral. As can be imagined, the video has spawned many naysayers and conspiracy theorists regarding the legitimacy of the pterodactyl and its origins. One individual blamed CERN for the appearance of the pterosaur, according to Metro.
“Has CERN opened a gateway to the past?”
The bird’s wingspan is massive and the distinctive crest on the back of its skull is evident in the video. The flapping wings seem fluid, not mechanical, and at one point, the pterosaur dips its head and looks back before retaking its formation of flight. After a few seconds, the pterodactyl disappears behind some trees and the video ends after the individual that recorded the bird zooms in and replays the video. The clawed fingers upon the wings can be seen in the zoomed portion, providing more detail to the pterosaur.
Sightings of large winged creatures have actually been reported several times over the last few decades with legends of the 'Thunderbird' still alive and well in Native American folklore. Famous cases include that of two cowboys who in 1890 allegedly killed a gigantic bird-like creature in Arizona which had smooth skin and a face like that of an alligator. Cryptozoologist Loren Coleman has also written extensively about a series of Thunderbird sightings that occurred in the 1940s.
There was even an incident in 1977 in which three young boys in Lawndale, Illinois were pursued by two large birds. As they tried to escape, one of the boys was allegedly picked up by one of the creatures and carried over a short distance before being dropped again.
Massive fish reeled in off Japanese coast
A monstrous prehistoric-looking wolffish has been caught off the Japanese coast. Hirasaka Hiroshi reeled in the whopper during a trip to Hokkaido, Japan’s second largest island. Normally the wolffish is about three feet long, but the monster caught by Mr Hirosihi was about six feet in length.
Wolffish are to be found on the ocean floors of the Atlantic and Pacific. They very rarely emerge from the depths. The fish was not a thing of beauty, with a huge head and a cavernous mouth.
According to a study in 2008, rising water temperatures have resulted in the wolffish migrating further north."It was worth flying to [Hokkaido] twice within three months. This guy is super cool,” the posted on Twitter.
No explanation has been given for the size of the fish which was caught around 400 miles away from Fukushima, the site of a nuclear accident in 2011.
Matt agrees with us that if it's a person, "they are either a moron or completely insane". "They are walking, swimming and diving in an area where there are hundreds of 12 foot gators and water moccasins everywhere. I was there watching it for a while. Seemed to notice me and walked toward deeper water. It went underwater and vanished. Paddled up there and it was nowhere to be seen."
