Eerie video of ghost caught on camera
A ghost said to haunt a pathway in Stansted Mountfitchet might just have been caught on camera if this footage is anything to go by. The Essex village, close to Stansted Airport, can trace its origins back centuries but one old local legend relates to a tale that happened on the pathway between the railway line and river.
And now one freelance content creator, Rob Wakefield, might just have caught the ghost at the centre of the story on film. On the footage Rob manages to capture a misty figure on the pathway close to the river.
This particular location, which is situated between a railway line and a river, has something of a haunted reputation due to the story of a young man who was reportedly hit by a train nearby.
The footage itself was recorded by Rob Wakefield who had been visiting the area to investigate the story. He claims that he didn’t see anything at the time but only noticed that he had captured something unusual after reviewing the footage later. The video, which was filmed on a particularly dreary day, shows what appears to be the faint outline of a human-like form appearing, moving and then disappearing beneath the trees at the side of the path.
The footage is then zoomed in for people to see the incredibly eerie outline of what looks like a spirit. And according to legend it could be the ghost of someone who was hit by a train on the nearby railway.
“The story was told to me in a local pub as all good ghost stories are,” said Rob.
“The story is of a young man who late one night decided to cut across the tracks, rather than at the nearest bridge. “He was apparently hit by a train, as the driver reported a collision, but no body could be found.
“The rumour is that the boy was knocked off the tracks and into the river that runs by the side of the railway.
“As such, on certain days, you can see the ghost haunting the pathway that runs between the river and the tracks.”
Rob decided to visit the location next to the river but didn’t notice anything until he watched his video footage back.
“I recorded this video in the same location,” he explained.
“I didn’t notice anything odd until I played the footage back and it gave me a chill when I saw the screen.”
