Mystery of ‘teleporting boy’ solved

Yes, the pretty baffling footage seems to show a toddler appearing from nowhere, and since the eerie clip was shared online by Twitter user @TewkesburyLeak, social media users have understandably been left wondering what the hell is going on.

The short clip was taken from the BBC News and shows a woman being interviewed by a reporter about plans to oust the country’s leader Theresa May from power, but it’s what’s going on in the background that has got people talking.

Blink and you’ll miss it – you might have to watch it a couple of times to spot the glitch. Everything seems perfectly normal at first, but towards the end of the snippet a little boy just pops up and walks away… *Cue X Files theme tune*

In a bid to get to the bottom of what had happened, the Twitter user shared the footage online and asked others: “WTF… does anyone else see the child teleport?”

Turns out everyone DID see the child teleport, which understandably left them scratching their heads a bit.

“Maybe some time traveller’s coming back to study the UK before the collapse,” one posed.

“Just one of the Tomorrow People,” someone else said.

“There has been a glitch in the matrix,” a third commented.

Another even said it the clip ‘confirmed’ the Illuminati.

But as you’d suspect, there’s probably a fairly rational reason for the strange teleporting kid – as a few people pointed out, it could well just be an editing error.

One explained: “It’s an edit chopped on at the end to make her look likes she happy.”

Another, who has experience in editing, chipped in: “Yep. I’ve done similar, people disappearing in the background, or walking backwards. You get so focused on getting the main thing spot-on that you become blind to everything else, especially when you’re on a clock. Should have just masked it off.”

Someone else added: “Morph transition, it would have been done as the interviewee may have carried on talking so they needed a clip where she wasn’t. Pretty standard in any TV.”

While some said that the possible editing mistake was some sort of media conspiracy, cutting out content to alter what the woman had said, one journalist piped up to reiterate that’s just how things work.

“It’s probably just a frame from another part of the interview that was accidentally left on the end,” she said, adding: “Does looks creepy though!”

It does look creepy – plus teleporting kid sounds way more exciting than a botched edit job.
